So, sitting on a MD90 last night out of SLC, the capt comes on and says "uhh... folks we cant seem to get the master warning to stop beeping." So DAL maintenance folks come and tear the upper panel of the deck off and are inspecting wires and electricals.

He then comes on any says "Okay folks, we found a bad relay that needs to be fixed. Our mechanics think they can fix it ..."

1 hour later ..

"Folks, we have bad news. There is not another aircraft for us to fly.."

2 hours later..

The flight deck looks like it was just coming off the assembly line. I've never seen so many electrical wires, ect.

"Folks, looks like our mechanics fixed it. We're ready to rock and roll"

So my DAL flight was kinda long being that I spent 2 hours in a B seat next to some 300 pounder that kept coughing up a lung.

Also, whats the final approach speed in the MD90?

Master warnings don't "beep"!

Sorry, you failed. J/K!

But really? Whats the "standard" approach speed used?

It depends! SteveC was correct as there is no standard speed.

They can range from the mid 120's up to the 150's I think. It varies fairly wildly which is why, after seven years flying the -88/90 I really have no idea. I think we were about 142 knots this morning into SLC.

Depends heavily (pardon the pun) upon weight, what the wind is doing and whether you're using flaps 28 or 40.

Now the no flap/no slat abnormal configs can get interesting however.

ummm you mean Aisle....always glad to be of service as part of the grammar goon squad :)

can i ask what is wrong be 300 pounds? about a month ago i weighed 310 pounds now that i dont eat everything in sight i have lost 15 pounds and it keeps coming down. come on now there is nothing wrong with 300 pounders unless they have a huge gut and just look like a mess.

I've been scrunched in next a "big fellow" on a DH flight before. Don't have a problem with it until he's hanging half into my seat.....

He probably didn't pay for the seat either. With fares as low as they are, Murphy's Law says that if you find a cheap fare, you will always get assigned the seat next to the large guy, old sick guy, or screaming baby.

This guy looked horrible.
