Goodbye And Good luck

I have not been of any real value to anyone on this site as far as sharing important knowledge, or any other deep insight, so many probably do not recognize me. I have lurked for years, and tried to soak up as much as I could from all of you. I would just like to say thanks and good luck to all of you. I have decided to not pursue flying as a career. It took many hours of soul searching to come to this decision. It was not easy.

I am going to go to law school instead. I plan to be a very involved activist in the preservation of general aviation, and would like to practice law in that field one day.

To all of you I again say thanks. It was always fun to come to this site, and hear the hiring news, or first times, and so on. I hope you all make it to whatever level you so desire. Remember to hang in there, and do not give up. Above all, please stay safe out there. I don't want to hear of anything bad happening to any of you. To those of you still training or instructing, always keep it within the regs. General aviation does not have the abillity to absorb many more punches. Peace to all of you!

Good luck to you as well Tim. I'm new to aviation as well and in the process of getting my private. I think I would like to make this a career one day but as for now I just want to fly for fun a little bit and make sure it's the right decision. What area of law are you going to pursue? You still plan to fly recreationally?

Hey you will still contribute to avaition! even having the thought counts. Hand in hand we'll make it worth flying and being an a professional aviator. Good luck to you in whatever field you decide to pursue.

Well congrads on your personal decsion. But FYI just because you're not going to make aviation a career doesn't mean that you can't still visit the site and contribute.

Flying Turkey used to fly for Piedmont and also gave up aviation as a profession but he still post on the site and adds to threads. You can do the same...:)

I wish you wouldn't say goodbye, so final like and all.

You don't have to be seeking a career as a pilot to hang out here. We got controllers and a flight doc. Could certainly use a lawyer. Heck, one of the mods is at an Ivy league MBA program. You could impact aviation in a postive way if you stick around. Time permitting, of course. I'm sure law school takes a while.

Best of luck to you man, I suggest keep posting and talking to people on here and itll add diversity on here from aviation-law. not only that there are a lot of good, sincere individuals on here. what field of law are you planning to get into? ani-trust? immigration? or LArry H Parker stlye!

Lol...you guys have Larry H. Parker in the OC too???

:insane:

Good luck to you. Stay here and be our aviation lawyer as we have a contributing M.D. for medical issues. Aviation law is a great niche area. You will do well and your conscience will be preserved as long as you stay shiny side up. Other areas of the legal system cannot boast to staying true to oneself.

Is that Lain? I thought he said he was there for a pre-med vet. program type of thing......

Anyhow, Tpros.....Stick around, impart whatever knowledge you have or will have.....

No need to leave the website because of not pursuing professional aviation. If I had to talk aviation 24/7 on the website, I probably wouldn't even be a user here myself! :)

Ok, I may just have to stick around. To answer some questions:

Yes, I will remain active in general aviation.

I would like to practice law dealing with aviation.

I have a long road ahead, but maybe some day I will be able to help you jokers get out of trouble. Not that any of you would even think about getting into trouble.

To have a pipe dream: Be involved in the events that help you guys get back what you deserve. I.E. pensions, more money, or a voice that gets heard. Big dream? Well so is being an airline pilot.

Where do you want to go to law school? My next door neighbor is a 4th yr law student, and will start his clerkship with the judge that is ruling on the Delta BK up in white plains NY. I've spent many a night with the guy feeding him beers and filling him in on the life of a pilot, especially those who are in the majors and stand to lose a lot! HE thought we were all spoiled brats until he saw what kind of hours I work and looked at my last paystub! Hopefully I have a prospering judge with a heart in the works. Teach snakes to eat other snakes is what I believe! Good luck and don't leave the site!

Sorry to hear that you have decided not to pursue aviation as a career...Best of luck.

Feel free to keep positing...outside view points are always welcome here.

tprops4me ...

Stick around buddy! A while back I decided to keep aviation as a hobby (help keep the romance in it opposed to possibly getting burned out) ... but I'm sticking around. I don't post nor frequent the site as often as I have in the past ... but no forever goodbye's and goodluck.

In fact, down the road I'd love to work my way up the ladder to CFI ... so hopefully here's to still seeing you around.
