Nbaa 2006

I'll be there with one of my aviation division employes and the President and COO at a minimum. If anyone wants to met up down there for a drink or just to say hello, call me from there or about a week in advance. That would be pretty cool.

Sadly I will not be there this year. It's been a crazy couple of months at the job and being the only Capt. right now doesn't allow me much time off. Next year!!!

I wish I could go. Cessna is going to unveil the CJ4 at NBAA.

You guys get the specs on that CJ4 yet?

We were sent them a couple weeks ago and I think it'll be a nice plane. Expensive, but it will definitely sell.

Some notable additions:

Single point refueling
Two MFD's
Standard LCD's in cabin for DVD playback
Movement of anti-icing controls
FMS will be above throttles now
Up to 8 passengers in back
Wing Sweep
3400 lbs of thrust per side
EDM (emergency decent mode)
Two evaporators up front
Two alternators allows for running all avionics in case of dual generator failure
Electrically heated windows (yay, the bleed air sucked)
Less Windows (5 per side)
2 million more plus escalators and options = 8.5 million

Should be a great plane

Damn, kinda pricey, but it does sound like a nice plane. SPR will be nice too. Did it say anything about speeds, payload, etc??

wow, where did you find that?

I tried looking but I couldnt find anything.

I currently fly right seat in the CJ3 and Cessna sent us the specs on the CJ4 trying to get us to buy it.

Sorry, forgot that stuff.

TAS 430 (I think), I do remember .77 mach though
1000 lbs payload with full fuel
1830 NBAA range

And you're right, it is a bit pricey. I'd rather get a new Lear for that price.

Rumor has it that there will be some "big" anouncement at this years NBAA from Cessna regarding the CJ4 and a certain large fractional operator. Stay tuned to see what happens..............

I was wondering if they would sweep the wing. I figure they've squeezed all they can out of the current wing. Still, we are routinely seeing 420 TAS and .736 Mach. Not much of an increase. I agree that the bleed air windshield anti-ice sucks.

While I was reading the specs, I remember saying to the other pilot, "This plane is made for a fractional." Single point refueling, second MFD, and the movement of FMS so both 1 and 2 are right next to each other is what sold me on that idea. Plus it can carry a little bit more and goes faster.

Hopefully Cessna beats its own numbers like it did with the CJ3 and turn this plane into something great.

I think it is at 12.5 degrees. I was hoping they were going to get rid of the boots on the tail because they're flat out ugly. But they're still there :(

Oh I see. Yeah, I was reading your training blog. Wheres the link to it?

Maybe I wasn't being clear. It hasn't been formally announced, so you probably won't see anything online. Maybe there is, but I haven't seen one. The specs I saw were the ones they personally sent our flight department trying to get us to prebuy before announcement.
