SATSair is experiencing a lot of growth and hiring pilots to fly Cirrus SR22s in the Southeast. Main base is in Greenville, SC with a few other outbases including: Myrtle Beach, Charleston, SC, Atlanta, Danville, Manassas, and a couple others. Great company to work for and descent pay. Home most nights.

Minimums: 1500 TT, 100 Inst., 100 Night, and all the 135 IFR mins.

PM if you're interested or want more info, I'll put you in touch.

I would be very interested in the Cirrus gig. I just finished a three year
contract flying an SR-22, and have over 1000 hrs in type with Cirrus
factory training. Of course, I also have the Commercial/Inst/Multi as well
Thanks!
Bob

While i bet this would be fun, why would anyone with those times halt their career progression and fly single engine pistons for the rest of their lives. Unless, of course, you were older (10,000+ hours) and just wanted a fun pre-retirement job.

Playing the devil's advocate here, but something I'm realizing more and more over time (more so lately :)) is that it's not so much what you're doing for your future, it's enjoying what you're doing.

Sure you're not building multi time, but you're home almost every night, pay is in the low 30's from what I hear and in the bases they are at you can buy a decent home for around $100k, combine your income with your chicks and you could build a pretty nice life. I don't believe it's on call work, I'm *pretty sure* there is a schedule and that would allow you to have a nice social life. Not saying this would be a "career stop" though.

The flip side to this job is working for a company like ameristar etc. al with their 20 minute call out, flying autoparts on the backside of the clock into mexico, living in detroit. OK, so the upgrade is 2 years or so, (maybe less if you have turbine time) but is it worth it? Maybe if you are single :) However, you are rewarded most likely with a better paying job and better QOL later on in life for taking a QOL hit (IMO) up front.

Next month I'm gonna go back on long call, which will afford me something like 22+ days at home vs. the 16-18 I'm gone now. Is making an extra $800/month worth missing out on staying at home? For some people yes, for others, no :). The cool thing with this job is I have a choice, if I want to work the work is there, if I don't, I can take it easy.

Dude, you better double that figure if you want to get any kind of house in any of those places.

I'm originally from Greenville and now live in Northern Va. When I left SC in 1991 a nice ranch in your typical subdivision was in the mid to high $100's. I imagne that same house now would be $250k or more, still cheap by NoVa standards, but expensive if you're only making $30k, I have family in Charleston, SC and Myrtle Beach. Charleston is fantastically expensive, but you can find places under $200 at MB if you look inland of Hwy 17. Pretty much though there is no way you're buying anything other than a dump for $100k in Greenville, Charleston, Myrtle Beach or Manassas and probably Atlanta. Danville I don't know much about.

That said I wish I was in a postion to pursue a job like this.

I overnight in gsp quite a bit and was talking to the van driver. They said a 2 story, 2 car garage house would typically go for $120k. Just what I heard thru the van driver. I'm not a real estate agent and didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night :) If she was wrong, then she's wrong, you would know more then me :).

Obviously living on the coast (any coast) is more expensive then inland.

Exactly. Dude you are like my brother from another mother. I'll fly a garbage lid if the pay and days off are good.

Does all parts of Florida in their plans include SRQ, TPA, or Clearwater?

Good company. I talked to one of their pilots in KAVL one day, part of their business plan is to have the SR-22's and some type of VLJ. When I was talking to him they were negotiating with Eclipse and Embraer (Phenom) and trying to come up with which aircraft would suit their operation best. Whether or not they've placed any firm orders I don't know. He was the 2nd pilot that flies for them that told me that, so I assume there is some truth it.
