Avemco AOPA insurance company

Any comments from current, and past customers?

I'm shopping for non-owner insurance, now that I have a solo endorsement (:nana2: ).

I'm tossing up the idea of their Aviator Gold package or picking it up from AOPA's Isurance agency. . . $10 cheaper than Avemco.

Any pro's or con's to going with either of the companies listed?

AOPA always seems to be higher than anyone else. I think the 210 is written with Global with a small Broker in Idaho

What other companies provide this type of insurance? I'm only familiar with AOPA and Avemco. I know EAA also offers the service, but their online functionality is not "customer friendly."

Thanks

I went through AOPA. Thank God I haven't had to use it, but I've got $5,000 in hull damage (that's our club's deductible) and $1 million in liability coverage. I don't have the policy with me to see what I paid for that but I'm not complaining.

Use brokers I've heard good things about Falcon Insurance in AZ 1-800-880-2727 and forgot some of the others. I have Regal in Cordulane(sp), Idaho. don't have the number in front of me. Look in flying mags and you see them. There is only a handlful of writers but lots of brokers. I may be off on this but don't give the tail number until you have a firm quote. They do look and see what it is currantly insured with. Most spreads have been within $500 the majority in the $300 ball park range.
