"Finish-up" courses

Does anybody know anything about finish-up courses? I've seen several on the east coast but none out here in the west. All I need is about a week of dedicated flying to finish my PPL but can't seem to get it done here at home. Has anybody done a finish-up course and are there any in the west?

Just a matter of meeting requirements is all, I wouldn't call it an actual course. Just do what you need to do to meet requirements and prepare for the checkride. Seems like any FBO could do that.

I agree. Find a local FBO with a dedicated full time instructor and get your checkride scheduled in advance with a backup day for weather. Take a few days off work and done.

My problem is that I leave for college soon and I'd like to get it done before school starts. The ratio of students to planes at my FBO is WAY off. I've been flying once a week. Not by choice, but because of scheduling. I've got over 30 hours and two solo cross countries. I need a night flight, little more hood work and a long xc and I'm done. At the pace of one flight a week, I should get this done sometime around Christmas. I've seen finish-up courses that take about a week for people in my position. I'm curious if anybody knows how I should go about my situation?

Come to Kansas we will get you finished in a couple days. :)

Nah, come to PA we'll finish you up in a few days and it's not Kansas :D
 
Tech flyer. Where do you fly out of? What are you flying?

If you're local enough I might be able to help you check a couple of things off the list but you couldn't do any solo and it's a 152.
 
Thanks everyone for your input. I really appreciate it. I've never made it out to PA and Kansas, although I'm sure they're great places to be:) I lasted 2 days in Phoenix back in June. After two days I ran out of clothes because they all had salty sweat stains from the miserable heat! Although TPing Doug's house would be fun, haha.

I think I'm going to start calling around and see if any FBOs around me would be able to finish this thing up quickly. DE727, thanks for your offer. My current flight school wont let me get close to the 152 for some reason. I think it's because of a weight thing. I'm 6'4'' and 265 lbs. The Diamond I've been flying is pretty cramped (understatement). I've never been in a 152 but I'm guessing we would run into weight and balance issues with two guys and fuel but I don't know. What do you think? Anyways, thanks everyone! Hopefully I'll be able to get this done soon.
 
Thats pretty big for a 152, I am in the same boat as you.

The 152's like to spin also, that may be why they are keeping you away. Who knows. Good luck getting finished up, I am sure someplace there can get you done.
