Should be an interesting afternoon of weather here in the grandest of forks. I think I'm going to go tie down my grill and deck chairs. :D

Looks like a good day to solo that private pilot applicant!

wow good thing about being up there is you get to decipher every abbriviation on a TAF or METAR. Glad im not going back up to GFK again (unless I decide to take a trip down memory lane someday :) ) As for here Clear skies warm weather and a light breeze

I believe GR is short for "graupel". The weather modification professor always refers to hail/pellets as graupel.

That TAF was actually an UNDERSTATEMENT if you were about 30 miles north of Grand Forks! I was driving up to winnipeg as the storm passed right over the highway, about 10 miles north of Manvel. From there up to Pembina was about 1/4 mile vis due to all the rain and the wind was just ridiculous. Even when I pulled over, my pickup was rocking all over due to the wind. Never seen anything like it!

Lol, yeah no kidding.
This does get old after awhile...
It goes on, and on, and on like this all summer -- not a cloud in the sky.

Yeah or San Diego... It is nice weather but it does get boring sometimes.
If you're looking for the most ideal weather in the country...i think San Diego tops the charts for sure. But yeah, like you said, definitely not the most interesting. Easy job for a meteorologist though ;)

Yes it is nice weather. San Diego is known to have the 2nd best weather in the world. Canary Islands of Spain is the first. I really do miss it. A few January's allowed me to lay out at the beach and swim in the ocean... it was 90 degrees on one January day.

Edit: I found an excerpt on it... I read it in the San Diego Magazine though:
San Diego is blessed with a mild climate, low humidity, good air quality, and welcoming blue skies through most of the year. In fact, Pleasant Weather Rankings, published by Consumer Travel, ranked San Diego's weather number two in the world (behind Las Palmas, in the Canary Islands). Indeed, could there be any better advertisement for visiting San Diego than when the Super Bowl commentators for the January 2003 game in San Diego noted that the afternoon high was 82°F (28°C)?

I like clear skies as much as anybody, but that would be pretty boring. I like a good thunderstorm occasionally. Not the crap in ND where clouds hang around for days on end. But more like what you get farther south where you just get a line of rediculous crap and then its done and the skies are clear again, or at least fair.

Yeah... like Texas or the middle midwest. I'm sure where you're from in Iowa you get to see some nice T-Storm action. I love thunderstorms... especially during sunsets when that eerie hue of orange colors reflect across the clouds and onto the landscape...across the rustling grass and into the wheat fields...of fer cute, sounds like a poem.
