It is, quite possibly, one of the most tone deaf and idiotic statements I’ve ever read. He slightly damaged a vehicle. Shooting a child with a gun accidentally isn’t even in the same universe of comparison. Jackass.

I loved his articles back in the day. Got reasonably in-depth on genuinely technical aspects but kept it understandable to the lay-kid.

That said, if you're 83 and you forget to put the gear down, maybe it's time?

I knew an octogenarian urologist that did it 3 times before he put the airplane up for sale.
