Updates on Delta Contract Talks

I bet it's fun explaining to the youngin's what Alitalia is/was.

Or independence air.

Hell, I get funny looks when I tell people I used to nonrev on TWA. They just look at me and go, “how old are you?”

Has your union put out anything about what they’re hoping to get on this contract? Do they touch on pay, scheduling, etc yet or is it too early still?

No one negotiates in public, we received a general opener statement the other day. Basically a full section 6 with lots of areas being considered. Anything you see will be broad and not specific and that's a good thing.

One of our union reps, who is NEVER wrong (just ask him) and is the SMARTEST guy in the room (also, just ask him), guaranteed us Delta would have a deal by June 1, 2026...that's why we needed to delay the vote on our contract for 30 days. So did you guys get the deal on June 1st?

That would have been the reasonable thing to do IMO and many of us hoped that would have been the case.

Back in the spring our negotiating committee approached the company with the proposal for an accelerated negotiation. Fix the broken trip coverage process (that both the pilots and the company want fixed) and a handful of the highest priority items that were identified through polling. They hashed out the trip coverage section then the company came back and asked for some major concessions. Not just things that were negotiated in the current contract cycle, but things that have been industry standard for 2 decades. To me this isn't negotiating in good faith. So now we're back to a traditional Section 6, which will take as long as it needs to, and we have bright yellow lanyards.

I’m good with status quo for now. I don’t farm for 23m7 because I’m not senior enough but if they wanna keep doling out the quick slips and make every open trip basically a premium trip, we can drag it out as long as it takes.

Me and the FO was doing the math today. The number one CA in our base and category basically makes about 36k a month without even leaving his couch. That is before he even picks up any QS or silvers.
