Has anyone gone thru the process of getting the Remote Pilot Certificate with a sUAS rating? Supposedly all I have to do is some online course at faasafety.gov. I can't get a log in even though I fill in all the blanks on the form. I fill everything out and it says it's sending me an email but nothing ever comes. I just filled out a trouble report but didn't get an email response that that went through, either. Wonder if anyone has a link or PDF file of the study course I could take a look at while I'm waiting for our overlords to get their act together? I was able to log onto IACRA and start an application no problem, but that's a different website. All I need is a graduation certificate for this course and download it into IACRA.
 
Did the UAS when it was first available.
There was a written test involved, but it's been long enough that I forgot the whole process.
Best bet is to contact your favorite FSDO and seek an assist.

Good for hobby or specific job.
Most people seem to fly UAV's for nearly free these days.

Owner operator specialist seem to be the way to go
 
The FAASteam website is odd. You log in, it says denied and then somehow you’re magically in.

I’ve done the course and a few recurrents. The IACRA is not too bad. Even a CFI can do it.
 
I did it during covid. Went to FSDO and met FAA in parking lot and did all the paperwork on the tailgate of a truck! (COVID, buildings closed). Very easy process. At the time I had to do some State drone stuff as well, although some of that may have been streamlined. Never ended up using it, but I was bored.

Thanks. If I don't hear something back next week I'll give the FSDO a call.
 
Depending on what size of drone you're considering you don't need your 107 to fly. Sub 250g which is the most popular DJI Mini Pro series is great, I fly a bunch here in the States and abroad with it.

Careful now, EASA/CAA is training and exams for licensing :-/

The volunteer fire dept I'm with has one big enough you need the certificate.
