Hawaiian airlines is cutting free in-flight meals, moving to pre-paid menu

Makes you wonder about people who just absolutely cannot go without that drink or alcoholic beverage or glass of wine, can’t simply delay it to later, as if their life depends on it. To the point it makes them emotionally angry and laser focused on something that’s pretty trivial in the big scheme of things like one’s career. Definition of an addiction. Makes you truly wonder if these are the future people who are going to end up on the news for showing up to work with some degree of inebriation. Same with heavy smokers who absolutely cannot go even an hour without a cigarette.
Agree. And we, collectively, often treat it as normal or even funny when it comes up. Or normalize “needing” a drink after a rough day or to fall asleep etc.

Sadly true. And I agree, we do treat it as something normal, with the type of people in described; but on the other hand, talk about the perils of consumption. It reminds of how in the military, there are all these campaigns and posters and such covering the perils of smoking, alcohol, and chewing tobacco. How it’s bad for you, and potentially your home/family life and career. But then, at the military base convenience stores, the items they make sure to have stocked up at all costs over everything else, because it’s their best selling items? Yup, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, and alcohol.

Ive seen where it’s almost no secret who are the most likely next candidate to show up to work inebriated, you can almost bet a paycheck on it, you’d think we’d be trying to get ahead of things like that with them instead of somewhat passively enabling them. Sure, they may have not done that deed yet, but with some people the signs surely are there for when it does happen with them, coworkers will be “not surprised, saw that coming”.
