He should pay up. Its mostly his fault. Or maybe see if he can borrow some money from Israel?
Are you saying this is Trumps fault? Because if it's Trumps fault Juan Trippe and Howard Hughes would like a meeting with POTUS asap about reparations. Trying to blame Trump for the low cost carriers failing seems ignorant. It's their own damn fault and their demise might lift all of the other carriers boats. I feel bad for their employees but that doesn't excuse the airlines themselves. When navigating the terminal as a customer and avoiding those gates is normal something is wrong. I don't think I've ever seen a fight at a Delta counter.

Yes, I am blaming him. No one has time to be analytical with an airline's low cost business model and how it could backfire if situation A or B were to happen. Fuel cost is always at the forefront and it seems that the airlines are somewhat prepared when the cost of fuel gets high but I doubt they have a procedure for when an idiot leader starts an unnecessary war with the country that basically controls the flow of oil shipments then continues to play games with them. Pay up POTUS.

Why do the taxpayers need to bail out the airlines even if it is Trump's fault. What about my small business that has to pay 30% more in fuel? What about the small 135 outfit on the local field that is losing money over this? What about my personal life that I have to pay more in fuel? Why do the individuals (tax payers) have to pay the big guys?

And how effective is your anger? Does it accomplish anything or is it wasted energy? You're not angry, you shout because you feel satiated after voicing dissatisfaction but it accomplishes nothing. Or you work for one of the bottom three and you haven't heard back from a major airline. If a low cost carrier is operating on margins so thin that a rise in the cost of fuel literally puts them out of business after a month they're not running a solid business plan. Why isn't Delta asking for a handout?

Juan and Howard lived in a regulated airline environment and are not eligible.

Trump certainly pulled the trigger on the demise of these LCCs but not their ill health necessarily. The Iran "excursion" will likely go down as the dumbest foreign policy move in our 250 year history.

Now, the only thing Trump can do to be a true capstone on his idiocy is to throw good money after bad by bailing them out.

This is the dumbest thing the US has ever done? Are you being serious?

I'm being Wacofan. Throw up your list of stupid things you feel exceed it.
It's a long list, some of it is military and some is societal. I'm not under some delusion that the US is infallible, in 250 years we might've stepped on our own phallus more than countries 10 times as old as us. I'm not a blind patriot, but I do think this is the best country to live in. You can disagree and that's okay.

Bingo. This sets a dangerous precedent. I said it before; the people that complain about socialism sure seem to want socialism - if for no other reason that to recoup their losses after buying up SAVE stock in 2022.

The only way I’d be ok with this is if the money goes straight to the employees as some kind of enhanced unemployment, and is paid for by taxes on the income class of the C-suite and above. As someone else said above, it’s absolutely nuts to consider printing hundreds of millions of dollars for management to set on fire and maybe help the shareholders a bit while the employees still get screwed in the end.

Who exactly wants socialism? Is that what you want? Are you brave enough to stand up and say it? Are you willing to give up even more of your income and your quality of life for the greater good?

I am not sure anyone is ok with this.

The point is, we have socialist programs, and there are instances where things like universal medical care make sense. The crux of this is that those who crap on socialism and scream from the rooftops about the free market, then turn and want a handout when the free market speaks.

Spirit should absolutely dissolve and go away. Everything has been tried at this point. Multiple bankruptcies, restructuring, furloughs, changes, etc., and they are bleeding money at a breakneck pace. Avelo was first in line to be deportation airways, and now they want to win over bleeding hearts?
