Lufthansa Strike

Really? Im not so sure it is. I dont need entertainment for a 50 min flight.

If youre talking TAROM/LOT i might agree but for Swiss, Austrian etc. An A320 is an A320...
Oh, for sure, UA domestic Y beats the crap out of EVERY EU airline. That said, TAP A320 biz class (standard 3 x 3 Y seats with middle blocked, NO recline wifi or IFE) FCO-LIS-MAD had better food and service than UA Polaris or EK premium economy. Still, the product? USA all the way. I fly UA when possible intra-Asia because they have the best product.

Edit: Tho seats suck, I want to point out EU biz class is still great if you accept the seats and just appreciate the extra personal space and good service. The longer TAP flight's offering was basically "I'm not going to stop feeding you delicious food or pouring you great wine until you tap out" (I spent my all-day layover planespotting without stopping to eat and was ravenous) and the FAs were all cool as hell and so attractive by any standard, which doesn't hurt. Same thing on the 45 mins or so over to MAD. They made me feel like...I'm in first class, and being actively waited on with determination to make sure each of the few customers in biz is individually satisfied. LIS is a major cf tho.

Regular economy seems to have great service on any EU carrier I've tried. But in economy I personally like Economy Plus or Delta Comfort more than anything I've experienced outside of Saudi Arabia (they know luxury and comfort, except the A321NEO where they killed legroom). American carriers do a great job giving you so many ways to chill out while the rest of the world is kinda like "idk, take a nap".

Got to do 787-9 Polaris revenue IAD-SFO with miles and they didn't load pillows, blankets, or bottled water for a 2300L arrival. Then we sat there 90 mins for a storm lmfao and people kept hitting the call button asking for pillows or blankets or water and the young FAs were basically snapping at them for asking. Yeah, the US airlines are never catching the rest of the developed world with food and service.
