Was this all over a timer he had on him?

From what I hear from inside sources, this wasn't even the most exciting thing to happen to a WN jet recently.

It’s crazy town out there right now.

MCI shut down yesterday for a couple of hours. Evacuated the terminal and stopped every incoming flight on taxiways because a dog sniffed a car the wrong way and sent the place into a panic. Ended up being nothing.

I heard TSA lines in Houston were at 4 hours yesterday as well.

There must be a way to put crazy passengers on a no-fly list so they are flagged/rejected at the time of ticket purchase. I don’t trust the TSA to do this - I have more faith in the private sector, even if it’s a cadre of domestic carriers creating and maintaining a database for this purpose. I’ve heard that some physicians do this to identify patients who have filed frivolous lawsuits, property rental companies on deadbeat renters, others.

Why not passengers who can’t/won’t behave themselves?

As it turns out, according to the news media, it wasn't a crazy passenger. It was a passenger praying during Ramadan, which isn't illegal in this country.
I agree it isn’t illegal and should be accepted in today’s day and age but I also think given the current world political situation perhaps a slight delay in prayer… or perhaps opting for an alternative flight would have been more prudent.

No one should have to hide who they are or what they believe in to satisfy and submit to the demands of an uneducated mob of bigots. Doing so just further enables the hatred and allows the intolerance to be normalized.

Everyone else's ignorance isn't that persons problem. Is someone going to lose their mind when one of the Somali workers in MSP (without whom that place would absolutely grind to a halt) goes for a prayer break in the corner of some gate? If people got out of their bubble and realized that yes, people of other cultures and religions generally exist out in the world they wouldn't give it a second thought.
