Costco optical is your friend. Although I hear good things about Zenni, I just can’t bring myself to buy something like glasses online.

I’ve purchased about 20 pairs on 39DollarGlasses: Prescription Eyewear at Affordable Prices , never disappointed.

Return for any reason, great customer support, quick turnaround. I average about $125 for progressives.

I keep a pair of RX sunglasses and RX night glasses (yellow anti-glare) in my flight bag.

I also have progressive lenses, and I have ordered from $39 glasses, and mine have never been anywhere near that cheap. Lenses alone for me usually run about $400.

I am currently wearing a set of prescription lenses from Flying Eyes, with the magnetic attachment for sunglasses and I love them. It is the best, most accurate prescription I have ever had. They were expensive, so my back up pair are now my older Oakleys.

Progressive lenses are now $89. Most of their frames are $49, that’s $140 without any discounts which are frequent. Not sure how you got to $200, let alone $400. I commonly wait for a buy 1, second pair 50% off. I’m probably average $125 with discounts, $150 without.

They also will fit lenses to your old fancy frames.

Edit: Just priced RX progressive sunglasses with high index (strong RX) and total was $247. The high index was a $100 add.
