ALPA Dues Refund

More red eyes typically mean less efficiency for management. I’m still +\- 5 from guarantee or more every month. It’s the same amount of flying as usual but it’s worse quality. Less DH though compared to the spring.

If I had not called out fatigued last month I would have been at 83 hrs of block. IIRC.

I’m basically too tired to remember at this point. I just know it’s a lot. Spent the day today day sleeping for a red eye that is now running over an hour late. At least I caught it before I left home. So I don’t have to wait around in the terminal.

I love redeyes. :) Almost picked one up out of base in SEA for tomorrow Fri-Sat, but patiently waited for a premium :)
Bet paid off, got a juicy 2-day premium out of LAX instead.

It’s great that the new contract is working out for the smaller boutique bases. I’d simply prefer a contract that helped the majority of pilots on reserve in SEA.

Back to on topic I did get my receipt of payment via email from ALPA. The funds arrived via direct deposit

My payment was over 3X what you guys were talking about. So maybe I get refunded for my ALPA PAC contributions?

Maybe that can entice you and @Skåning to do something other that selfishly make make this career about yourself and join the ALPA PAC?

That was my confusion too. What you just got is the in house Alaska ALPA refund for 5 yrs, 2020-2024 inclusive.

Yet to come is the ALPA National refund, which is 13.6% of your dues paid for 2024.

Correct, I do not.

It's OK I don't mind that my ALPA PAC payments also provide you with a stable career:

U.S. Senators Urge FAA to Oppose Single-Pilot Operations

Today, U.S. Senators Tim Sheehy (R-MT) and Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) led 43 of their Senate colleagues in a bipartisan letter to Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, urging the Federal Aviation Administration to vigorously oppose single-pilot operations for commercial airline operations at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and maintain America's gold standard in aviation safety.

“We appreciate the leadership of Senators Sheehy and Duckworth on this very important issue and are grateful to the dozens of senators who are working to ensure that U.S. aviation remains the safest around the world,” said Capt. Jason Ambrosi, ALPA president. “To prevent this risk to safety from reaching our country, we must work together with aviation regulators and stakeholders to discourage it across the globe. We cannot allow foreign regulators to persuade ICAO to establish global standards for single-pilot operations, as that would create market pressures in our nation to adopt practices that undermine safety. And we cannot allow for unsafe conditions for American passengers traveling in and out of the United States on foreign carriers.”

And you rode our coattails at Skywest. Consider us even. Actually, you owe a lot more.

I’m doing MY part!

1931 member here. Between single pilot ops, Age 67, and secondary barriers. Money well spent.

If you’re a legacy CA and not donating at this level, what are you doing? It’s like $165 a month or .5 of an hour of your hourly rate.

Legacy FO (other than first year) should at least be hitting the Behnke level.

First Year FO century club.

You put it on auto deduct and your don’t even realize it’s missing.

I haven’t calculated my dues refund this year but even if you slammed that refund to the PAC you’d at least hit the Behnke level without even trying.

Been at Behnke level since getting off 1st year pay. I should probably upgrade to 1931. 67 and single pilot are the two biggest threats to my career, and the recent wins in both of those battles have made me feel a lot better about the future. If anything these recent results have been a motivator to donate more.

YOUR coattails?

Oh, you grizzled, mustachioed, hard-knock union pilot from JetU and Virgin America. Tell us more about walkin’ the line and telling management to shove it! :)

Come to think of it, I should be a lot more ashamed of my scab days. Working at SkyWest for 8 months...

So you don’t vote, but you’ll contribute money to the broken politics.
