EKG from a class 1 has saved 2 of my friends lives. Both were athletes both had an abnormally large heart that was corrected with surgery. Both eventually flew again.

It is kinda weird the amount of "sudden deaths" that occur in otherwise healthy youngish (30's/40's/50's) dudes who are just doing their normal crossfit/insert extreme workout routine. I know at least 5 widows because of that. And those guys never had an EKG for sure.

*shrug* sometimes if you push something to its limit, it breaks. Whether that’s airplane parts or body parts. Too many of us go the opposite direction for sure, but ya gotta think there’s a risk in loading up on pre workout/PEDs/hormones and then going full HAM all the time on CrossFit or whatever the latest greatest gym bro craze is.

Read the comment section of any article mentioning a mysterious death of someone in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.

“Jab”
“Gee, I wonder what was different taken en mass in the past few years?”
“Covid vax strike again.”
“This is the find out stage.”

Also agreed. Have seen well intentioned idiots cause themselves Rabdo, along these lines too.

I know a few of my fire coworkers who live on energy drinks like Monster as if they are water. And take all kinds of fad supplements for muscle mass and stuff. These are fit guys, but that crap is terrible for your heart, especially in those amounts. And one would think guys like this would know better, but a lot of them also smoke. Guess there’s not enough smoke in the job as is.

In almost all the cases I know of the deaths were caused by a genetic issue that affected the structure of the heart. All would have been caught by an EKG or whatever the more thorough one is called (ECG?).

HIIT training is really good for your cardiovascular health. But should only be done once a week without a structured training program.

The only supplements I’ll touch is pea based protein powder, 5mg of creatine a day and electrolytes (because they have what plants crave) obviously.

I don't think that didn't happen to some, but this has been going on for a lot longer than the COVID vaccine has been around.

I used to be a Monster a day guy for a long time. At one point in 2010 I was drinking 2 a day for about 6 months. I've now been off the energy drinks for 4 months and. I don't miss it at all. I've also lost 50 lbs since this time last year.

The problem is everyone wants the quick fix. The human body doesn't really work like that. It likes to compensate for the environment it is in, and when you introduce those kinds of things, your body will move to adapt to it.

Modern pharmacologicals can a wonderful thing, but the human immune system is supremely complex. Tinker around with it, and your body will sometimes attempt to go the other way which can be a problem with immune tinkering drugs for eczema, arthritis or psoriasis GLP-1s? Seem like a great thing, but I'm waiting cautiously to see if there is any back end. Phen phen was the new hotness until it turned out it was burning out heart valves. GLP-1s seem to help a lot of people, so I'd hate to see in 3 years it makes your pancreas melt.

Same with self-administered drugs. Modern hyper-weed roasting noggins over the long term, home brew concoctions popping mental circuit breakers, and the new fav, fentanyl, which just plain shuts your lights off.

All I know about running is that Jim Fixx, the patron saint of running, dropped dead at 50 in perfect health. That's all I need to know.
