Layover food

When you’re in NYC, Xi’An Famous Foods. - it’s a local chain but the Mount Qi Noodles and the Spicy Tingly Lamb torn noodles do not disappoint!

Oh awesome, will check it out! The torn noodles sound like this one I get from Mama Dough in Auburn, WA, though I'm sure totally different

What a coincidence, I had escargot and duck confit as well but yesterday and in Manhattan NY not in Paris. Passed on dessert though.

I was torn between steak frites, duck confit or bouillabaisse before I decided on the duck.

I think the very best *French style* bird I've ever had was in Manhattan, around the block from my in-law aunt and uncle's place. It wasn't confit, but it was by far the best roast canard I've ever had. And the velvety lemon butter dipping sauce on the side was perfect. But those two have impeccable food taste (or taste in general). They would take my wife and her little sister when they visited, to outings like Les Halles in the 1990s before Anthony Bourdain was even a household name.

edit: super random in a sea of other such places, but I think it was Manny's Bistro
