United Aviate sued!

Yeah, when my commercial ticket still had wet ink on it in early 2003, I don't remember it being a very great time to enter the industry. That being said, flying for Uncle Sam was always the original plan for me. The offramp to 121 flying came much later. I'm pretty sure that a savvy internet sleuth could find an old post or two of mine, right here, where I proclaimed that I would never fly for the airlines :)

We grow.

I’m sure i said something like “right seat 767, left seat 767, retire” at some point.

Text is from para. 59 of the complaint. I guess this meme needs one stripe or whatever • they have them wear, idk.
When I mentioned public hangings in a different context, in another thread, I was admonished, by you. I’m just trying to find my bumpers here.
Eww. Hangings are very, "political" and something I wouldn't suggest trumpeting.

Okay okay I’ll go to work I swear but one more; recently discovered footage of the Manager, Pilot Development (or whomever) at UAL.

There was definitely a lot of “wrong side of the tracks kid” vibe being at Riddle with all the 2nd generation aviation kids who’s dad was some senior captain at FedEx or United.

Those were the same people who didn’t understand why I needed to work a job.

I was at Prescott campus in 81. There was a kid that had a brand new 280zx I coveted. Took me 10 years to afford a used one

I had a sim partner, when he arrived in PHX, bought a Corvette and a convertible Corvette -- he literally had no idea that the top went down on the hard top.

His father's private MD-11 did a touch and go in PRC once that brought the campus out.

Meanwhile, @MikeD and I would stop by Circle K, a soda and a hot dog for $1 and load that damned thing up with all the chili we could.

Salam and his Vette’s, ha! And always with the Ray Ban aviators. Wonder whatever became of him.

And we made sure to get our money’s worth of chili on our hotdogs. That was a treat back then and made for an easy dinner for us.

I am a firm proponent of never keeping all your eggs in one basket.

Diversify and be ready to pivot because, guess what, THIS INDUSTRY IS CRA HA ZYYYYYYYY
The world doesn’t need more lawyers, though. Which was/is the other thing under consideration.

More than half the seniority list at any given airline here was hired post 2013, and hasn’t really seen true tough times. Other than a temporary blip in March 2020, but even that was mitigated by several rounds of payroll support and huge increase in fee unemployment benefits, plus covid relief funds.
