Spirit Furloughing

Jesus Christ. That was a thing… really hoping thats some very good AI deepfake or something…but wow. Did not expect that

And apparently the company wanted to close ATL, DFW, and ORD, but the Union and company worked out an MOU for some scheduling relief to keep those bases going.

Did they run a displacement bid?

If anyone at Spirit has any questions about AA, DM me. We’ve been told we’re going to hire another 600+ this year and likely 1000+ next year. Still tons of retirements.

Sorry to hear this. I feel for you guys over there.

I know we already have and plan to continue to hire a lot of Spirit guys at the U. Hopefully all of those that want to come over make it over

I was told earlier this week that outside of the Aviate program, United was preferring captains from Spirit, and 8000-hour or better Jetblue captains.

I would say off the street with no career fair, I’ve been seeing 6000TT+.

Career fair, much less.

One tip I would give, it doesn’t matter how much TT you have, WANT the job for the right reasons, and get interview prep.

There has been some very experienced applicants that have gotten no’s, due to not heeding the advice above.

I’m guessing a lack of awareness of the current climate mixed with have the boxes checked, now what can you do for me.

Just out of curiosity, any squeaking by lately that don’t have the 4-year? Heard that the big 3 haven’t changed it back to required, but very strongly preferred is emphasized.

Another thing to add: Be prepared to interview on the spot at a job fair. Not sure about other airlines, but AA has hired quite a few that interviewed at various job fairs.

I haven’t heard U doing this, however it’s good advice. If you knock the M&G out of the park, you have a good chance of getting a call.
