Uniform update?

I liked my leather jacket the regional because a friend who had flown there gave it to me.

I wish like hell we’d approve the Karbon. It’s so much more functional than the 3/4 length coat we have now.

Northernjets had them too towards the end. By some random circumstance, the whole thing was really well executed, and they selected a top notch vendor. Best part is the jacket was plain on the outside. Just looked like a regular jacket, which meant you could wear it outside on a layover and not scream "cheap airline pilot". The epaulets were velcro, so they popped right off.

I really can't wait to wear my Bates brown shoes from the Navy and make a bunch of old guy's heads explode......"gahhhhhhhh you look like a HORISON pilot!!!! gahhhhhhhhh"

JK, but the hate for brown shoes seems high on the other forum
Eh, seems like black has a lot more options. And for the guys who choose to push the boundaries of what’s allowed for footwear, it’s probably a lot easier to do with black shoes.

LONG SLEEEVES!!! Danger!

Kidding of course, now that we have a normal jacket that doesn't weigh 87 pounds I'll be getting far more mileage out of it during 'not jacket season'. Always thought short sleeves and a tie (especially with a hat) is a terrible look and the jacket rounds out the look.

I swapped to long sleeves a few years ago at the behest of my dermatologist.

Despite my best efforts, I had my first skin cancer (basal cell) lesion removed last summer.

Despite being (properly) labeled as a • bag for wearing long sleeves, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Until the rule them not allowed, bwahaha

And for the months it’s required I’ll just bid Mexico turns and leave the horse blanket in my closet.

Which oddly is what the ones who gripe I look like RJ scum in my single breasted jacket do anyways…

Also, still got my actual RJ scum leather jacket waiting for the day I become Emperor of the Untersee Booten Komendants!

Would be nice if the uniform went back to the way it was

Flown with a few folks that wear sun sleeves as well, not a bad idea at all. I try to throw on sunscreen before each leg but it's hit or miss.

Hopefully no more cancer for ya, probably from our childhoods when no one thought sunscreen was necessary.

Much the same as the 'single breasted jacket looks like an RJ pilot' trope over at SJI. Been wearing my new threads with former RJ scum pride.

Hey, I resemble that “Hey, what’s that Endeavor pilot all upset about” remark! :)

oh I'm just kidding. I don't think brown shoes look at all good with blue or navy blue pants. And I actually have a really nice looking pair of black shoes I fly with that I plan to keep wearing. But this is really gonna make the janitor shoes Captain crowd annoyed

I have several friends/mil buds at a southern airline who is #2 in SEA, who wear the long sleeves.....because of tatt sleeves. They're way more jacked than me, so I can't really judge :)
I just flew a 3 day with a long sleeves FFDO captain and he was pretty chill
