Oh Navy

We can put a 330 down there, wet runway or not so a lightweight 737 shouldn't be an issue. 22 is a much simpler approach, but the trade winds (which were pretty gusty yesterday) make it a less than desirable option most of the time.

I think we all know how this happened.

They were corpies before the navy?

P-8 took a swim in Hawaii. No injuries.

Well, to be fair...

That runway is only 7700-ish feet. That's a BIG ask of almost any recent-hire / ready-to-retire these days.

And ... there was a moderately frisky crosswind. I think the last plane in the Navy that actually demanded a modicum of foot-work was the T34C.

To bastardize "Airplane!", picked a hell of day to deep six a spy plane.

Useless red circle. I can clearly see where the plane is.
I'm becoming very afraid that with all the frivolity of the free-speech we take as a given, and with all our bluster, and chest thumping and unquestioned assumptions, when we are forced to war with China, WE will be Russia in Ukraine.

I was in the 3rd seat, but we took a 747 in there. Was a new guy on OE. I was jealous

Then after min rest on the way out the captain told me that I wasn’t allowed to be sarcastic anymore as it was distracting. I was pretty quiet after that as apparently I can’t not be sarcastic.
I had one FO I flew with more than the rest (probably over half my crew time) and we always joked that eventually one of us was going to say something sarcastic, the other one would take it seriously and do something stupid with the airplane.
