Never understood that saying. That's a fellow who just used up his ration of luck and is probably going to be running low for quite some time.I'm taking up a collection, pilot is going to buy lotto tickets for us. Because, that's one lucky pilot.
“Hey you can’t park there”<obligatory>That'll buff right out!</obligatory>
I texted the pictures to my Air New Zealand friend. He came back with: Look at the flaps. The pilot is lucky. Crashing into a hangar doesn’t usually end well for the pilot or pax. The P-51 that went into the hangar at P19 up the road from me 14 years ago, comes to mind.
No Batman, not the asymmetric flap demon...I texted the pictures to my Air New Zealand friend. He came back with: Look at the flaps.
That guy is always smarter than me.

Maybe... I don't know how Cessna flaps work. Not knowing what impact did to the flap cables etc I wouldn’t necessarily put a lot of stock in that.
All the single engine Cessnas are more or less the same I think. The right flap is driven directly by bellcranks and pushrods off the motor/transmission assembly. The left flap is driven by cables that cross through the fuselage from the right side.Maybe... I don't know how Cessna flaps work.
The flap down on the damaged wing appears to be in the correct position, the aircraft was on final.
What ever it is, the NTSB will need to look at that.
