Oh SFO tower

And it all stems from 10 years ago when CC couldn’t get an interview at Delta.

Or AA. Or UA. All for their NYC base. But I’m over it. We moved out and it’s been over 4 years.

Now this is his life ambition - to defame Delta.

Defame them? No, but Delta is east to make fun of. No one else thinks as of high of themselves as a group than them. The material just writes itself.

Just because something did NOT result in an incident or accident does not necessarily render that something innocuous or unimportant to examine. Lots of obviously bad stuff happens daily, with limited material effect on proximate outcomes, or even notice by the perpetrator or the perpetrator's management or any regulatory overseer. Unexamined and unmitigated, that bad stuff eventually leads to the cultural normalization that eventually leads to the disaster that ratchets up the suck and the regs and the pain for everyone. If the Fed had better regulated before the bank failure... If the FAA had better regulated before Colgan... Etc., etc.

Everyone makes mistakes. The idea is to make small mistakes, identify them early, correct them quickly, and avoid them in the future. That way, they don't lead to big problems that make life and commerce more difficult for everyone in perpetuity. (I did not use the term "ratchet" by accident.)

This reads like Busta Rhymes busted into a dictionary and made a rap with unrelated words.

I literally don't have the brainpower or interest at 0615KST to untangle how in the heck this response relates to a Teletubbies animated GIF.

I think you might want to check a dictionary…?
Don't need one. Uninterested means "NOT interested". Disinterested means "NOT INVOLVED" (unbiased, having no skin in the game.)

An unmotivated player is "uninterested in the game".

A proper judge is "disinterested in the case".

If the current amplitude of misuse of words has lead the dictionary publishers to capitulate to the a high volume of popular malapropism, I've got some Brawndo to sell you on the cheap. It just fell off the back of the truck, man.

When enough people rob banks, are we going to make bank robbery legal?? Well, are we?

I love you man, but you continue to busk in an empty subway station that's been closed for a decade.

Amazing you could be so confidently incorrect.

That's actually fascinating, and at first blush, I stand abashed. Thank you! I'll do some more research to assess the veracity. Thank you!

That said, that's not a dictionary. That may be a etymological history lesson.

It takes some perspicacity and a great deal of interest for you even to have looked up your reference. For that, I highly commend you. That said, most folks using words these days are using them against the current standard forms. So, as much as I appreciate your new information, in the current usage, I stand on my position.

I'm definitely going to do some research here, though. Great call. Thanks again! :)

More like the Matrix subway station. :)

Nah, something far more post-apocalyptic like something from "Fallout".

Ok.

If not the lonely musician busking in a dead subway station, in a more friendly sense, can be how Kip, in "Napoleon Dynamite" tries to snap on Deb:

The things you think are insults, well, they aren't! Ha! I'm sitting here in Seoul, wife in tow, about to go captain a siiiiiick A350 to DTW. And we're hiring.

It’s all good. Enjoy the flight. :)

Drugs

Pretty sure I'm one of about 10 or 20 guys who didn't lie on his military application. I've never done any drugs other than an aspirin occasionally and antibiotics twice. That said, I consider beer to be part of the food group... Slow burning complex carbs, a good dollop of B vitamins and various essential minerals, lots of good clean water. Kinda like the foundational level of any well-constructed food pyramid.

Somehow I'm anticipating your response now: "Well, you should, then!" LOL. ;)

Just to bump this back up again I was just in SFO this week... got all the numbers, briefed the runway, the possibility of the other, and my FO got an earful of all of the highlights of this thread.

No real line, just 2 others... We got to the end: "Do you have the numbers loaded for 28R."

"Nope."

"Ok, hold short then."

Didn't argue, didn't give them a time. (i.e. N.L.T. 5 min to program changes) Could have said something. Just let it go.

Crisis was averted. Didn't end up on ewwwwwTube.

Ewe Tube? IS THAT A THING?! :)
I'm not "trolling"* anyone. I'm just asking questions... Apparently, very uncomfortable questions.

And I'm rarely getting much anything even approximating considered answers.

If you'd like me to leave, just let me know.

But please know, if you kick me out, you're no better than the current state houses of Tennessee or Montana.

I will say a friend of mine, and this is for you @Cherokee_Cruiser because it was at widget, was asked to brief all runways and all approaches for 5 different airports (destination + 4 divert options) during the prior to TOD brief. I'm not sure what to do with that anecdote. But it does remind me of this one time, when I was briefing a notional strike into a threat nation (a strike that wouldn't be flown, it was a brief only), and I spent like 10 mins briefing friendly divert fields in a neighboring "south" version of this country. The instructor was like "I think I blacked out, but you may have talked for 10 mins about diverts that we will never go to, and you even pulled the current weather.......this is both below average for headwork, as well as above average for attention to detail".......

It's all theoretical... until it happens.

Well yeah, you never know. If they ever need to pull any of us off the bench on game day, I'll be ready. Sadly, that day would probably be the same one where they start pulling my old lot 13 Hornets out of the boneyard because of attrition. Ok, maybe not there, but in some other theoretical conflicts. I do miss my first baby girl though

Ok. Since you only drink beer, how many did you have before typing this word salad.
