Heartbreaking to see such a nice Basler conversion damaged. Hopefully it will be fixed.
Coincidentally, a DC-3 crashed on another April 8th, that was 1946 in China !

A video of the accident shows that the aircraft veered off the left side of runway 23 during takeoff. The aircraft continued on the grass. The pilot then appears to pull up the aircraft to clear some trees, after which the aircraft banked left and descended into an area of trees and shrubs. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the nose, wings and undercarriage.

This is a different crash. This one is a Colombian Police bird while the other one is from Aliansa and takes place at a different airport.

The tower controller must’ve pressed a crash alarm or something at :15 in the video, or else the CFR crews happened to be out and about. Because the plane is impacting the trees and at about :30 seconds in the video, there’s a crash-engine rolling from the right side of the screen. If that was a cold alarm activated by the tower, that’s a heck of a response time. Especially with getting geared up.

Yep you're right #2 is an Aero Modifications, not Basler. I think they are different entities.
There was a fourth one recently if I remember well, also in Colombia, which leaves less than a handful flying there now
I used to vacation often in the USVI and remember the sound of radials while on Lindbergh Bay Beach (STT), I looked up and DC-3 I saw ! it was a cargo outfit called Four Star Air Cargo. They had a few mishaps, fire in SJU (DC-3), ditching (DC-3) in STT...
Metroliners were also common place at STT and due to the short runway (before the extension; 4,200ft->7,000ft / in 1992) and the rising terrain; some early S/N were fitted with JATO's. A buddy of mine told me tales of crews salivating when the JATO's were expiring, they had to fire them so it was fun for them to take a ride while punching the rockets.
