I'm obviously not getting the joke then.
I dunno. They're all critical in the Cirrus jet. That there's no critical engine in a jet...

Are you being Cirrus right now???
That there's no critical engine in a jet...
Vmc is the "most critical" engine. In most jets either engine could be the most critical one.
I still don't think you are getting it as far as thrust goes.
BTW, again... you do know that my original comment was said totally in jest. Right? Right?
I’m approaching Susan Collins levels of concern (possibly higher) about the quality of multi-engine instruction apparently available. And yes, it's normally the left on props, but the issue I was talking about was that a JT8-9 generates LESS thrust than a later generation model (what Mike was talking about), and therefore would be less likely to cause Vmc issues.

Granted it’s a little silly in an airline context because V1 > Vmcg, Vr > Vmca and Vref > Vmcl by certification, but still. At my Eagle interview a fellow interviewee complained about being asked VMC questions.
He was an MEI.
If you’re not good at your current job how can I expect you to be good at your new job? I don’t think it’s silly at all.Granted it’s a little silly in an airline context because V1 > Vmcg, Vr > Vmca and Vref > Vmcl by certification, but still.
Oh, of course; no disagreement. If you’re not good at your current job how can I expect you to be good at your new job? I don’t think it’s silly at all.

I strenuously agree.Oh, of course; no disagreement.
of course I was skimming, so I originally read this as “hmmph….how can questions on visual meteorological conditions be that difficult for an instructor?”
Hey, I flew 135 cargo. It’s too bad to go IFR so we’ll have to go VFR happens."It's either VMC or it's not.....so which is it? What's there to talk about here?"
