Did they fly around over populated areas dumping fuel on neighborhoods instead of going out over the ocean? I remember when a widebody did that a couple of years ago, I was actually driving to lunch and when I saw the weird contrails it was pretty obvious that airplane was having "issues". I found out later that day (on JetCareers) what had happened.
