Ahoy!
The FAA is still farming out appointments that would normally happen with FAA folks at the FSDO and as such is passing the job onto DPE's, looking for a Seattle area DPE to do a paper re issuance (thats what the folks at the SEA FSDO told me this would be) of an FAA ATP (Adding 2 type ratings to my existing FAA ATP via the FAA/Transport Canada bilateral licensing agreement AC 61-135A) Already have my FAA Foreign license verification letter, FAA class 1 medical, etc in hand. Seattle area or Bellingham, anywhere in the Seattle FSDO service area is fine I am told since the SEA FSDO is where my verification letter is held.

So I pose the question to my fellow JC'ers- any recommendations for Seattle/I-5 corridor area DPE's?

Thanks!

DPEs can now work outside their FSDO jurisdictions, so don't limit yourself to the Seattle FSDO. You might be able to "import" a DPE from outside the area for this. I know one DPE that regularly conducts exams three states away because of a shortage of qualified DPEs, and the other region happens to be near his vacation home.

This woman is a DPE and contributor to AOPA publications that often writes about how she leaves her FSDO to conduct exams.
