We have 600 employees. 104 got Covid. 8 died. 6 are officially long haulers. Those 6 account for over $1MM in claims so far. Of the rest, we have had 21 who became very sick and collectively account for another $1.26 MM in claims.
We are implementing the same cost share increase as well. I am done with this mess.

As someone who worked DGS ramp and gate, getting a mainline ramp or gate job was not an easy task and very sought after. So I'm pretty sure with their applicant pool for those jobs, they will be plenty fine. Just because you anti-vax have a loud voice doesn't make you the majority. You are in the minority.

Agreed. A lot of these ground crews, dispatchers, pilots, and flight attendants are going to be in for a very rude awakening soon when their bluff is called.
The airlines are simply going to be incapable of operating with an unvaccinated crew force. Of course most of the anti-vax types are short on logic and reasoning skills, so I know they’re not going to get that.

How do you deal with the pilots who say I already got Covid, I’m fine, got antibodies, don’t need the vaccine? I swear almost EVERY anti-vax pilot I fly with, they claim to already have gotten Covid. And they wrote it off as no big deal.

Well ironically a large portion of those not wanting the vaccine are the “super-educated” according to some article I read a couple weeks ago. They’re MD’s, PHD’s etc...

I fly with a lot of them as well.
The issue is you may be protected, or you may not. The amount of antibodies that your body creates from COVID sickness is highly variable, as opposed to the known quantity from a vaccine.
That’s why they could end up like this guy, that had COVID previously and decided not to vaccinate:
