PSA pays Schedulers more than Dispatchers

It’s been that way at the Voy for a while now. Company’s excuse is that they’re “management.”

Scheduling is a tough job. There's a lot of stress, burnout and turnover.

I understand Scheduling is a stressful and tough job. The same can be said about a Flight Attendant job. They also deal with a lot of stress, burnout and have a very high turnover. Does that mean an FA should make more than an FO or a CA?

Crew scheduling definitely deserves the pay they were raised to. But being a dispatcher requires a professional license, so it should be higher paying than crew scheduler. Hopefully the union can convince PSA to increase dispatcher pay as well. If nothing else, they got good reason to have it increased significantly with the next contract.

A manager at Eagle, (before it become Envoy), said the reason why crew schedulers made more. " For the crew schedulers the regionals are a career, for dispatchers it is to get experience to go to the majors. "

Sounds like supply and demand too. Within the regionals, I'm willing to bet there's more dispatchers applying than schedulers for their respective roles. No surprise here, even with the certificate aspect.

My point being that there's traditionally a lot more turnover in the Scheduling role than the Dispatcher role, due to the factors I mentioned. The higher wage is an attempt to retain talent in that position.

yes. you are so right! And you know what makes it even more difficult for that sceaming bag of hags....they only have 2 brain cells. Mandatory.
And THAT is all I have to say about that.

The Gold Standard regional airline Endeavor paid DX less than Skeds until recently. Skeds are making $19.30 an hour
