FAA Open Hiring ATC

I’m sure most people that would be interested have seen by now, but figured I would share for anyone that may be interested just in case.

FAA has opened a bid for ATC, No experience needed, must be under 31 and willing to relocate anywhere from Guam-San Juan and points in between.

There’s quite a few of us on here, I’m sure all happy to answer any questions. Good luck to anybody that applies, we could sure use the help at my ARTCC!

Been trying all day, I get stuck at the resume portion where "SAVE&CONTINUE" clicks then freezes and won't let me go on to the next step...they do warn that huge interest has resulted in issues, but I've tried every hour or two for the last 6 hours. Can't get to the "submit documents' page. My last Well Qualified score (of FOUR...) is still recent enough to be "in the system" so Monday I'll try my luck calling around and seeing if they're willing to work with me before I age out...can't imagine with how hard that test is that there are many people with 4 WQ scores, 6 years ramp tower experience, and 15 years flying experience applying...gotta think I have a better chance in OKC then someone from Bestbuy who flies to Vegas once per year and otherwise has nothing to do with aviation lol.

It says for issues to call them "Mon-Fri", it closes on bloody Monday and was posted Friday!!

Could've been a mechanic. But you don't need to talk on the radio much, if that's your thing.

Did that with cars in my teens and twenties, helped in the hangar at a 135 outfit I was flying at. Not my thing anymore. I enjoy it just enough to keep it as a hobby, but just enough. Tools no longer get thrown .

A lot of people seem to overlook dispatching as a possible option also...no age limit for it.

Nah. Couldn't be locked in a hole looking at screens like that all day. I'd have tried to have been a tower controller at a sleepy class D.

Get ahead of the pack and save yourself some time. Get a job with Jeff Bezos. The AI bots at his AWS division are currently in negotiations to supplant public ATC services. You won't actually be directing traffic; The negotiating bots' nephews and cousins will be doing that. But you'll have the satisfaction of a very secure job -at the pleasure of Jeff and his bots- electrifying (feeding) and cooling (watering) the bots. Good luck! We're all counting on you. ;)

Everyone likes different things. For me, it's the perfect career, because I like aviation, weather, and messing around on computers - plus, we do have windows where I work (although there are a few dispatch offices that do not, for weather protection from tornadoes/hurricanes.) I would say we definitely have more sunlight here than center/approach controllers who literally do look at screens all day though.
