A380 Capt to Truck Driver

Meh. Just calling it like it is. Not a single ex-Delta 777 Captain is driving a lorrie today when that fleet got parked.
Yeah that’s fine but your complaining about what again? We’re an industry that got helped during a pandemic and we’re not the only industry that received support to prevent collapse. Somehow you compare that to what foreign carriers do all year every year? You know the reason 777 captains at delta aren’t on the street? It’s because time served means something……. I can’t believe we have people here with such lack of common sense that get to do this job. It really devalues the accomplishment

All year every year? Source?

Just that ALPA shouldn’t really cry foul on foreign governments and whatever perceived aid they “seem” to get (Emirates opened itself to an outside audit, came back clean). The amount of money spilled in the last 12 months for US airlines far exceeds the initial government startup costs (aid) given to EK, QR, and EY combined. And the irony of people being okay with something they are fundamentally against (socialism, bailout) except for when their own house is on fire.

Come on Max. You of all people, especially, know that CC ONLY cares about himself. In all situations and scenarios.

So true.

“I can‘t believe my neighbor called the fire department because his house is on fire. Those fire trucks are blocking the cul de sac and my UberEATS delivery is going to be late. Physiological needs, I have to fly tonight! They didn’t take care of their house anyway“

The "common everyday" psychopaths/sociopaths are far more common than the ones that make the FBI most wanted list.

This is a ridiculous assertion. Of course I’d care if my neighbors house is on fire.

Because it might spread to your house?

Now relate that to your lack of empathy to (industry) dumpster fires.

I’ll take my answer live.

Lack of empathy to what dumpster fire, airline industry? I’m empathetic and on record saying even if it’s Norwegian or whatever other “problematic” carriers there are (Skybus type), I feel for anyone who loses their job in this industry.

They're mostly harmless, mostly.

I might casually disagree. Many of them are in positions where they oversee other people, where they cause unnecessary emotional hardship and angst. By extension they cause unnecessary cost and expense to their employers. In addition, their narcissistic tendencies almost always place their interests ahead of the employers, which comes back to bite in the long run.

My point is a*holes are bad for business.

Yep! They're usually by design in positions of power. Your boss, teacher or a colleague. But it matters how you interact with them. NEVER show weakness to a sociopath, narcissist or psychopath. It's like pouring blood in water. Fight back smart, if you can. These types are all cowards. They enjoy eating the soft fat, not the hard grizzle. Be the grizzle, make it difficult for them and they'll back down. Because they're cowards and they prefer to chase down the old, slow, sick and young gazelles in the herd. Never the stronger, faster fighters up front or even in the middle. Everyone worships predators of the wild as majestic, powerful creatures. But they're all really lazy and aren't looking for a fight to get a meal. Human predators are no different.

Agree. It is ever so satisfying to see the predator get kicked in the junk by the gazelle.
