A380 Capt to Truck Driver

In the rest of the world, where they didn’t get government bailouts, loan guarantees, and payroll support programs. I better not hear ALPA beotch about the ME3 carriers ever again.

Well actually, we'd better not hear you (or anyone else) bitch about ALPA ever again.

Your logic train is so aweful.

I don’t - for the most part. But I do on the topic of ME3. Ridiculous fight.

And like the regionals vs majors how ALPA can’t quite possible represent both fairly, I also don’t see how the ME3 fight helps me. Our carrier doesn’t do any international fights to Europe or Asia. We actually codeshare and fill their planes in SEA. So, I hope the ME3 do well. Let’s be honest, the whole ME3 thing is only a fight for the big 3 carriers. In that regard, I couldn’t care less about the big 3.

It doesn't affect you, until it does. Then its already too late.

Meh. I doubt my shop goes international any time in my career. And if the big 3 buys us, then I may care. So, maybe?

History shows that there were situations were a lot of people didn't care, because things weren't directly affecting them. Then the winds suddenly changed and it did affect them directly. But it was already too late for them to escape their fate. Human's as a species tend to forget, which often leads us to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Be more proactive in your thinking than just reactive. Also stop only thinking about yourself, but the entire brotherhood of trade unionism and also your chosen profession/industry. What affects one, will eventually affect all.

Come on Max. You of all people, especially, know that CC ONLY cares about himself. In all situations and scenarios.

I learned very quickly that when it comes to pilots at airlines when it came to pay, QOL, contract, personal gain items, they only care about themselves. Not to mention the general concept of seniority is all self-serving.

Maybe because the rest of the world doesn’t have the amount domestic destinations even close to what we do in the US? I don’t think any amount of oil money would have helped the ME3 open up the worlds borders.

Fair point in regards to domestic destinations and operation, but let’s get real. Had it not been for the govt loans and PSP (especially PSP), we would have furloughed THOUSANDS of pilots here. Airlines have already gone on record saying they are able to increase their capacity this summer and recover like we are thanks to the government bailout programs for the airlines.

My larger point is just how good we airline pilots have it in this country. Better in just about every possible way for pilots in terms of career.

So basically you're saying that you had already taken your CLEP exams on the subject and tested out of the 300 level course. Gotcha!

Meh. I already work with diagnosed sociopaths. No biggie. It will be a short learning curve.

11 yrs as FO and I remember being told to stick it to the company, to “hold the line” by not picking up extra, just fly your line, no favors, etc etc. Not that the union was saying this (that would be illegal), just regular like CAs I flew with. And then I found out, a lot of them were padding their pockets, bidding 90+ hrs, gobbling opentine, premium pay trips, etc.

It is what it is. I can’t say I blame them. I just wish they didn’t be two faced about it.
