Delta 717 departs runway at PIT

...easy there skip, don't know which models have the rear stairs that deploy as I am not some mad dog fanboi

It doesn’t have any stairs, it’s only an emergency exit. When you pull it, the tail done literally comes off. It’s shaped the way it is because it’s designed to roll away from the fuselage after it drops off. A slide deploys rather than stairs.

God, I miss that plane.

All around my favorite airplane I've flown at an air carrier, and after the 727 & 757, that's really saying something.

Just an old fashioned, good flying bird, going to no hassle destinations with few enough people to keep the rando pax issues to an absolute minimum. Every other leg is to someplace where we're the only thing moving, and at most, only one time zone away. Best, most logical FMC I've ever seen.

Good performance, robust systems, easy to fly and great air conditioning. Quirks are an absolute minimum. So easy your grandma could fly it with no mean tricks. Comes down like a chrome plated manhole cover so there are no "ahhh, poo, NovemberEcho was sleeping on the job again, how to I go down/slow down?"

It receives Richman's highest stamp of approval.
