New airline: "Aero" launches VNY-Aspen

Pretty close to that!

There's a pretty big corporation out there that employs flight techs (A/P mechanic) instead of cabin or flight attendants in their Pt 91 flight department, the grease monkeys are expected to take care of the passengers. A good friend of mine that fancies himself a bit of a chef got hired there a long time ago. Catering is probably involved for many flights but he apparently works the galley hard, he told me once he made pizza for the pax from ingredients he'd stocked (raw dough, cheese, vegetables, sauce). Apparently they liked it, he's still there. I told him he should bake a lasagna.

He should be paid incredibly handsomely for that! I know Cabin Hostesses that make almost 130k!

He's not hurting for money, the VVIPs have been known to specifically request him. They fly large cabin long range jets, for a while I think they were Global/Challenger but I think they're mostly Gulfstream now. He's been around the world many, many times.

I should also mention that it takes a special personality with a certain amount of charisma to be able to do that job well, and he's got it.

I can’t imagine trying to do regularly scheduled ASE service without major support...

We ended up diverting to GJT on a weekly basis during the winter doing the UEX/SKW ASE flights, and trying to figure out the logistics of all that with some new 135 shop and some wannabe rich people in the back sounds horrendous.
Pretenders, versus the actually wealthy indeed!

I wish them well, JSX showed us this is a good strategy. I heard they're also going to start flights to MMH from SoCal as well.
