Frontier guys

In that amazon show Upload there was a "Frontier Spirit United" airline in the future. Was that like a prophecy?

I think it's the pilot group trolling itself by trying to reverse engineer what management is looking at based on what it looks like to a pilot.

Besides, TPA had been rumored or hinted for a long time, and ATL was a rumor like 6 years ago. anything positive right now is very refreshing. I just hope that they know what they're doing.

I’ll be curious to see how senior ATL becomes. Best of luck for anyone looking to get on here. It was easily the best career decision I’ve ever made.

Weird how guys who would have never applied to a LCC because they were holding out for the big 3 are now shoving resumes in droves.

"So why do you wanna work here?"

"Honestly, I never thought I'd be here. But the big 3 aren't hiring any time soon so I had to lower my standards..."

[said no pilot, ever, but it's the truth for these particular folks]

oh you’d be surprised. Especially if it’s some hotshot 25 yr old regional captain who’s never seen the dark side of the industry, and is appalled that his career progression has been slowed.

I don’t know a single person who fits that narrative. I know I’m just one person and this is a minuscule data point, but yeah, after being hired at two LCCs and being at a regional where many wanted something better, never have I ran into someone who “settled” for an LCC. And that includes myself. I was thrilled to be hired by both.

I don't work in hiring, but I suspect strongly that a 25 year old regional hot shot with an entitlement issue won't be looked upon favorably, given Frontier's pile of applicants. He or she might have slipped by in 2018 pre-contract, but they wouldn't today.

I’ll freely admit that I never really thought about or planned on Team Yellow, other than knowing the bucket full of Brasilia captains that seemed to work here and loved it. My experience at the interview sold me on wanting to work here, and maybe that should be the way that it is.

And same things re: quality of applicant pre-CBA 18 vs. post, too. They’ve got a knack for filtering those people out pretty effectively, even pre-CBA 18, IMO.

Spirit and Frontier have a better chance of being around by the time we retire than AA does imo. Smart move on your part to head to yellow and build that seniority.

Best advice I was told was find the first place where the name on the plane matches the name on the check and stay there, be happy you’re there and build that golden seniority. (I still haven’t taken that advice, probably will bite me soon but I have my reasons for that decision)

Those that were hired by Spirit or Frontier in 18-19 are sweating a lot less than those hired by the big 3 right now. This is a crazy career, none of us will know if we played it right until we hang em up, that’s the truth.
