The ONLY people in the world that a part 121 aircraft go-around is a noteworthy event for are the good folks on the ASAP committee since whatever procedure the airline has laid forth is certainly forgotten and a slightly custom version is what’s being executed.

We're supposed to make a PA if we have time, but, well, nobody listens to those, either.

I did two go arounds in four years. One went perfect. I know I reviewed my maneuvers section waaaaaay more than the average line guy. I’d be willing to bet a paycheck that the percentage of procedurally correct go arounds is less than 20%.

I almost wonder if line checks should include a dry run of certain maneuvers at the gate. Instead of being stuck with the guy an entire turn sometimes you just get to play pretend on the maneuvers that always go poorly.
