This is bewildering. The only thing I can think of is that they are staffing a training float like USAir did in 2000. seat fillers that can keep the seat warm until the displacements and downgrades are done and everyone is in the seat they were awarded.

They have been getting full training pay since they were told not to show up for their 3/17 class. I’m not saying there’s no costs associated with it, but the school house is up and running again, and they are already getting paid.
While it’s certainly not a bad sign, Im not saying this means AA is gonna resume hiring and the risk of furlough is over.
