Dallas area resident may need some "regional time" - What company ?

Hello

I live in Dallas area and have apps at all the majors. 5700+ TT, 2500+ Turbine PIC, ATP, degree, yada yada. Check Airman experience. No incidents/accidents. Resume and apps professionally reviewed. Clean record. Due to current "management role" in my company, I am only flying 10-20 hours a month. Apps went in to the various companies in October 2019. Crickets so far. Note: I am legally FAA current, and yes, "am flying" but not much.

A few trusted buddies at the majors told me to "suck it up" and "get some 121 regional time" to boost my resume. I also plan to attend Women in Aviation and OBAP this year to get some face time.

With that said, I am looking at Envoy v Skywest. I am also looking at Sun Country, Allegiant.

Wait until after the job fairs and make your decision. I’m in the same boat and that’s my plan.

So you’ve got Mesa, skypest and envoy. I don’t know much about skypest or Mesa, but if you go to envoy you might get displaced to the left seat in NY. They might not being doing that right now, but it’s something to think about in the near future. Especially as guys leave there to flow to AA.

Maybe there are some envoy guys on the forum that can chime in. Are they doing forced upgrades and DECs still? With the amount of FOs they’ve hired over the past 2 years I would think they have a pipeline for captains now.

I don’t think they’re still doing forced upgrades but I’m not sure. @BigZ might know people there.

Guys I know there say that isn’t happening any longer. They seem to be happy for now. One upgraded on the 145 ~1.5 years and will stay in DFW. When he started though almost all new hires were given LGA.

Why haven’t you applied to Spirit?

Rumor had it they were cancelling the rotary transition program too, not sure how credible said rumor was.

Even if the career fairs turn out to be magic bullets get your regional interviews going. Time from scheduling the interview to actually interviewing to class date is on the order of several months at many places.

You don’t want to start the process AFTER the job fairs.

Also, insert an obligatory snide comment about extremely altruistic volunteerism resumé bullets here.

Anyone's guess at this point. Summer vacancy was on the smaller side, only half of the eligible FOs were displaced into the left seat. Fall vacancy cleaned that up, everyone was force upgraded. Winter vacancy that would typically be run in January hasn't materialized yet.
With the last PP flowing the rate drops from 29 to 20 CA a month, so they might slow down the forced upgrade thing. On the other hand, vast majority of people don't preference the left seat, since by getting displaced (or proffering to) you end up without a seat lock, which you can volunteer for for extra 5 hrs/mo for 2 yrs - free money, and the seniority determines what you can hold, not how you got there - 3P or 3D. Point being, forced upgrades will continue methinks, definitely will for the new hires with qualifying time. The 145s LGA aren't gonna fly themselves. No DEC bonus at this time I think.

That rumor has been confirmed by the RTAG group. No official word yet. But overall, great many RTP guys bolting for your shop and the zoo once they get a year or two under their belt. Company was expecting longer tenure I guess.

I have opinions.

Wow, your apps have been in for over 3 months and you don't have airlines lining up to hire you? This is a long game, it has and will take many people years to get picked up by major. I have just about everything you have and have updating my apps for 6-7 years.
