Not sure if any of this has anything to do with your questions, but I'll leave it for reference if anybody is wondering.

I have a friend that was recently hired as a 767 FO at Fedex. He was touring the GOC and asked about Dispatch for me, he was told they have about 90 dispatchers currently and hire roughly 5 every three months or so. They've all been internal for a while now. He was told if anybody wants to come externally they need a strong recommendation from somebody internal to have a shot.

In other words, start throwing boxes part time or forget FDX as ever being an option. lol

Would a seasonal worker be internal enough to apply for dispatch? Thinking about looking at their seasonal options around the holidays if it’s enough and the timing is right.

Not sure unfortunately, I'm trying to see if my friend can get me in contact with anybody. Not holding my breath that he can, or if he does they respond to me.
 
Yeah I’m willing to find a part time job to get in, but it couldn’t be literally throwing boxes thanks to an old injury that was a parting gift from a previous employer.

It would be interesting to find out how long people spend on midnights at Big Purple and Big Brown. Decades?

Can one reasonably expect to become a day walker again at some point?

I did speak to a Fedex dispatcher on here . He said it has to be a part time job at Fedex express not Fedex ground . Express! He made mention of you doing it for atleast 6-12 months before getting considered .

I'm curious as to what times their midnight shifts are as some airlines have various times. Does FedEx do true mids, like 2300-0900, or is it partial mids like 2000-0600?

Not a dispatcher but I work very closely with them. External postings are extremely rare. Internals only pop up every once in awhile. Off the top of my head I've only seen 3 this year. Basically if you want to get in you need to be an employee already. I believe it starts around $4200 a month for their lvl 1 GOC specialist, I can look at exact numbers later. Hope that helps.
 
Is FX now a scheduled 121 operator or are they still 121 supplemental?

What is the work rotation in regards to days on/days off.
