Endeavor votes to remove PAFCA

All kidding aside- I don’t work there. I’ve never worked there and I never will. But it’s really sad in this day and age when the Supreme Court and state governments are doing everything they can to kill people’s rights to unionize- that a group in a non-right-to-work state and in a heavy unionized industry- are willing to throw that away for a few bucks. No offense to anybody, but if you work at a regional airline- how much money do you expect to make? Regionals’ entire business model is set up to fail. That’s why so many of them do. And as times get tough at Endeavor- do Endeavor dispatchers think their buddies- the company- are going to keep their most senior and most expensive employees around? Or keep any of their promises when they have no legal obligation to do so?

Well said. Negotiating on your own as an airline employee group is not smart. ENDV dispatchers will throw everything and I mean every-th-ing away for a few extra bucks and all the while the company will be sharpening the ax.
 
A bankruptcy contract with bankruptcy pay and work rules while the rest of the work groups are non-union and make more money. It isnt that surprising to see why this would happen. Crew schedulers shouldn't be making more money than dispatchers.

While this may seem short sighted, this is a stepping stone job. Most won't get anywhere near the top of seniority and those that do only for a short time. If there are layoffs, other regionals and supplementals hire so often that they wont be out of a job for long.

Food stamp wages only get you so far. MSP isn't exactly the cheapest place to live either.

I think this best explains why it happened. It wasn't a decision made lightly, there was a lot of build up that led to it. It's much different than if a major decided to just suddenly vote out their union. The average dispatcher is only going to be there for 2-3 years, and non union departments like Scheduling were getting real pay raises and being treated pretty damn well by comparison. The whole situation was a mess, but hopefully this will be a fresh start for them.
 
Just ask the guys over at Allegiant how voting the union out has worked out for them...voted teamsters in 2011/2012, then voted them because they thought the company would work with them only to vote then back in, now trying to finalize a the first contract after voting the first one in.

Sounds like whoever made that decision has been drinking a little too much punch.
