Is there any hope that airport weather stations can truly be accurate?

The tarmac raises the temperature and does not measure rain or snow which melts before landing. DFW and Newark tend to have temperature 5-7 degrees hotter due to the weather station location.
 
Asphalt runways bake in direct sunlight and raise the air temperature at the surface by up to +5C. Surely we factor that into our takeoff distances?

You’re AFM doesn’t include a temperature comp chart for convection cooling on contaminated runways?

What airports put the station in the wrong spot on purpose to make climate change seem worse? Likely in Democratic cities .

TL;DR (lol): Yes

One facilty I was at allowed a “small, personal snack” after community food turned into borderline potlucks (distraction) in the area. Then that loosened up to you could bring things that didn’t require plates/silverware like cookies/candy/donuts. Or a little snack but you couldn’t bring your whole fast food value meal in with you to eat.

Another facility was so slow we ate full on meals with whatever you required/desired with it and then some while on position.

My facilty now we’ll do the occasional box of donuts/candy/cookies and people might bring up a candy bar or chips or whatever but not a lot of eating in general, mostly by choice. Most of the time but especially when it’s busy, you just don’t ever get a chance to start eating because you’re talking too much.

Before I was here apparently it had gotten out of hand so they made a rule you could only have food on position if you could hold and eat it with one hand. So people would bring in a big turkey leg hahahah... so I guess they realized how ridiculous it was and backed it off to more of a “use common sense and police yourselves” kind of thing.

Officially, no. Unofficially and hypothetically only of course, about 1/2 of my daily sustenance is usually consumed at the scope. If the chow runner/delivery arrives while your in position it’s the only way to get a hot meal without microwaving it. But it really depends how busy it is and/or what position you’re in.
