My suggestion would be a forum section within 'General' with a different thread for each locale. Check for the location and add your tips to the thread. Or start a new thread if you're going somewhere unprethreaded.

I can add a few good BBQ joints off the top of my head.

MCI - Jackstack BBQ , Kansas City Joe's ( Burnt end sandwich was ranked #1 BBQ sandwich in the country)
SAN - Phil's BBQ ( Tri tip sandwich is amazing )
EWR - Dinosaur BBQ near penn station ( good food for EWR haha )
Hard. Eight. End of story.

There's good BBQ everywhere. It's not a monolithic cuisine; regionalized variants are what make it so good. Thus, Hard8 is good for Texas-style bbq, but there's other stuff out there....
I don't get the whole BBQ thing. I understand each region has a different flavor sauce, but from what I can tell, it's either good or the brisket is dry and crumbly.

Certain areas are heavily pork based and others are heavily beef based (from what I’ve noticed).

Brisket should be so flavorful and tender that it doesn’t need sauce IMHO

KMKC - Grunauer. I'm not what you'd call an aficianado of German or Austrian food, but that place is fantastic. Right in downtown KC. It would maybe work on a long MCI overnight, but obviously it's a fair distance, because that stupid airport is, too.
