Frontier

So I had a second year F9 FO tell me that they aren't really in a hurry for a new contract because they only make about 1k less per month than their legacy counterpart and they don't want to give up their amazing work rules. Is this guy legally insane?

Black sense of humor?

Maybe he was trolling you? I think there's probably only one pilot on our seniority list who feels that way and he isn't a second year FO.

Isn’t it about time to stop proposing $39 pay rates for major airline pilots?
yes but i got a good answer as to why they did that.

Apparently they already have it written in the agreed upon portions that first year can only be within certain percentages of 2nd year and that showing it at $39 is suppose to be a bargaining tool and won't actually be that. or at least how I was explained in passing

I think the MEC did this to call the company’s bluff. The company have said since negotiations started that if classes are full, pay must not be the problem. If Rontier wants to grow, they have to attract pilots. That isn’t the union’s job. It’s clear that the company isn’t interested in achieving a deal before inability to hire forces them to (and why would they be when they’re getting us at such a discount?), at that time they will either negotiate or execute plan B.

Another mediation session is now scheduled for the third week of October. I’m sure this will all get worked out at that time.

That video was a little scary as a prospective “career destination.”

When you put statements in your video like “you get to fly this 10 million dollar simulator” and “I don’t want people to look at Frontier as a stepping stone” you’re doing it wrong.
Why are you interested in a career at (air carrier)?

Because I will perform pilot service in exchange for currency.

Why are you interested in leaving (air carrier) for (this carrier)?

Because I would like to perform pilot services for additional currency.

And having an occasional vacation would be nice...
