Gotta get them burgers! (Van crosses runway and almost gets hit!)

Vehicles can work up to the edge of the runway, not just the hold short line. However if the vehicle was on the runway during a takeoff roll, there is nothing legal about it by any stretch. You cannot enter a runway in front of an aircraft on takeoff roll under any circumstances.
I mean as the van is getting to the runway edge line on the other side

I believe Branson is a Contract Tower, so it might be different than in the FAA, but I've seen worse incidents than this be ATSAP'd and the controller back on the scopes after a 30 min break lol.

Everything they say is true, you REALLLLLLLY have to try to get fired from this job.
SGF is an FAA 7 up/down.

He won’t get fired for this.

Depends if it’s a NATCA covered contract tower or not.
FAA tower/approach.
I looked that up when I read the 'van was cleared to cross the runway' claim earlier this morning. It's an FAA Level 7 facility.

Runway 14 was closed to arrival aircraft by notam. Ground gave taxi instructions to Envoy initially to runway 20, but the pilot requested runway 14 for departure. Ground taxied him to 14. Was given a 5 minute release. Local put him in position on the runway. Ground gave crossing instructions to the vehicle on 20. Local cleared the jet for takeoff on 14. Ground forgot that he just taxied the jet to runway 14, was still thinking it wasn't being used. Jet was rolling down the runway and Ground gave the vehicle crossing instructions without coordination with Local.

MBI about memory aid usage forthcoming.

I should not have been so hasty in judging the van driver...

Still though can a MF not clear right?

Just yesterday in BTV, the taxiway was closed so tower cleared Republic and us to back taxi on 15. Republic exited at the end and we spun a 180 for takeoff. Before we even had the thrust set for takeoff tower cleared Republic for takeoff. Maybe an ATC'er can comment on if that was kosher. It didn't seem right to me considering the runway has a bit of a peak to it and we could've had a high speed abort on the other side of the hill where Republic couldn't see us as they were barreling down the runway.

For today’s news worthy standards that was “way too close and outrageous” from an aviation professionals vantage point it was “no big deal, just another day” However, I doubt waiting 4.5 seconds to cross would have resulted in empty tins of delicious Missouri BBQ.

eek!! Will probably be watching that replay on an eLMS/recurrent before long.

The rule is that the preceding aircraft must be 6,000 feet down the runway and airborne, defined as having rotated, before the succeeding aircraft begins takeoff roll. As the other aircraft had turned off onto the hammerhead and needed to 180 to get back onto the runway, which takes a few seconds, I'm assuming this was entirely okey dokey.

I can see this happening there for some reason. That place just has a vibe too it so much so that we have double checked our crossing clearances multiple times.

Thanks for clarifying the rule. The way the taxiway closure was set up there was still room to clear the runway on A and taxi to the end for takeoff. Republic didn't have to do the 180 that we did. I know the controller did it because our wheels up times were a minute apart from each other but I highly doubt there was 6000' of runway between us when they started their takeoff roll. Oh well... I'm just glad it didn't end with us aborting.
