If you're using clam bellies you can toughen them up by layering them in kosher salt overnight. Then you can cast them without tearing the clam. A good trick is to wrap two rubber bands around the salted clam then hook it and cast away.Fish are a myth. But yes, south shore, I’ve got lures but I’ve been mostly using bait for now. The water is 80 degrees so all the blues and stripers are well out to see til next month or so.
