JetBlue and ALPA has an AIP!

It has the Train seal of approval.

The work rules are darn good(This is where you make $$$). The implementation has me scratching my head. The vacation/PTO is only behind DL(astronautical) and SW. The COLA is not a deal breaker(yes I would of liked 3%). Profit sharing and the signing bonus didn’t matter much to me. Reserve rules are nice. The NC did exactly what the surveys asked for. Work rules, reserve and better vacation allotment. The senior CA’s and FOs are the only ones that want to come in and nuke the place.

Pretty much agree, I really like most of the new rules. Implementation has me scratching my head though. We could be 1/4 way through the life cycle of the contract before some major scheduling rules get put in place. I’m curious if any other airlines have experienced delays like that when they got new features. I do understand why it’s happenening, just wondering what the standard has been.

I’m curious how the new ALV is going to change staffing, seems to me it may lower staffing in the small bases as the lines are going to be built with a higher credit divisor, thus requiring less lines. But now more vacation blocks are added on top so who knows.

"We think this will take too long, so we're going to vote to make it longer because we're mad."

Pilot logic.
The LGB base reps voted No, solely based on the implementation timeline (which is ridiculous), not necessarily on the TA itself.
It seems like another company i remember did this crap in a vote a while back. I dont know if it was an airline, maybe just a flying club in northerner Mississippi. It only got them parked afterwards, when the dessenting reps sabatoged the vote.

We are four years into contract at AA and still many items that aren’t implemented.

Certainly seems like Sr captains liked the old vacation system, wonder why?? And they certainly didn’t even know what the reserve system was. “And I’m gonna lose money not being able to sell back 10 hrs a month!”

I’m a little underwhelmed however I’m not willing to risk the wait and I’m also looking at CA RSV in the near future. A no brainer for me.

Long implementation schedules aren't unheard of. Not exactly standard, but not unheard of. If you don't have a long implementation process, then you usually end up with a bunch of grievances over implementation instead, so it's basically half dozen of one, six of the other. Implementing big changes is never easy for large organizations, especially ones as complex as airlines.

Also, software changes take time, especially if you are a smaller company and are working with a 3rd party vendor instead of an inhouse solution. SABRE can take years to get even the most simple changes done. Because of that and the fact that this ta is work rule change heavy, I'm not at all surprised about the implementation schedule.

I know you've had to explain this before, but try explaining this to someone who keeps their cell phone on a belt clip.

I see the belt clip on people. If one has, I don’t know, an iPhone so and so plus, and it doesn’t really fit in Bluejets standard uniform pants pockets, maybe they just decided that while at work, they keep it on a belt clip because, they choose functionality over conformity(aka style). Maybe they are prone to misplacing their phone. What are they supposed to do? Keep it in their hand walking around the terminal? Plane swaps? Hotel vans? I mean, you are walking around in an airline pilot uniform. Some of which are less stylish than others. At that point what are you trying to show? That your not NOT in style?

Are you justifying your cell phone belt clip?

Pilots and the Dunning-Kruger effect are a perfect match for IT...

Mine is always in my right front pocket. Never had an issue.
