United is dead to me.

I had to look that up because it’s my favorite airliner. And voila’;View attachment 43803

in fact, I had to dig this up. N7515A in your a.net photo, I snapped a pic of at IGM getting scrapped in early 1990.

Can’t mention the 707 without a gratuitous Tex Johnson reference

One of my closest friends met him. His dad and Tex were best of buddies. He just oozed Aviation God my friend said. That story about that fly by is the stuff of legends.

How long do planes generally sit out there before heading to the slaughter house?

at the boneyards , it all depends. if a plane isn't in storage in flyable condition and are there for parts or dismantling, if they are a type still in current service, they'll often last awhile as they slowly lose parts. if a type not in use anymore, they're usually scrapped in short order. Just all depends on the individual aircraft. Some newer aircraft have also been scrapped quick, and all the boneyards have older planes that have seemingly been there forever.

I use to eat Biscoffs by the sleeve back in my RJ days, I cant stand those friggin things now.
I use to eat a few of those a night back when I was cleaning RON's in college. Literally haven't eaten one Biscoff since I quit that job. Which is unfortunate since the 200 is pretty much Biscoff only, sometimes snack mix on DL.

I used to bring packages of those things back from AMS. And they basically just glued themselves together in the pantry because "the thrill was gone, baby".

I havent touched a biscoff since the 90's. I rode ATA from MCO to MKE and the flight attendants gave me three sleeves of those things, a bag full of Malibu and a bunch of cans of pineapple juice. Ever since then, ick.
Same for me, what worries me is what else will lose its thrill factor as I get older.

That's about where I am! :)
We don’t agree on a lot, but yup.

This is the post of the year!

@Soul Brotha'

Here's my other pic from IGM I was looking for. Don't know why the cockpit was specifically removed, but she's in the middle of scrapping, and you can make out the faded ATA name.

I didn't used to like instagram when I thought it was just a bunch of crappy photographers putting filters on bad pictures trying to make it look artsy. When facebook was no longer just a cool place to hang and keep up with what my friends were doing, I moved most of my posts onto instagram. It's a lot harder to get political on there and a lot easier to just share pictures of what is going on in my life with a little blurb.
