And United STILL can't stay out of the news

Can't United go just one month without pegging the outrage meter? Just one? Is that too much to ask?

United Airlines CEO Chastised for Stealing Sand from Public Beaches for His $6.8 Million Home
  • Video provided to WJXT News4Jax by an anonymous neighbor shows heavy machinery scooping sand from the beach and moving it in front of the homes of Munoz and three of his neighbors, CEO and president of Web.com David Brown, managing director for UBS Financial Chris Aitken and a woman named Margaret Conolly.
  • “We’re outraged about this,” another neighbor, Bill Hudson, told the outlet. “It’s a poor reflection on the whole community that someone would be that presumptuous to virtually steal something that belongs to the public and use it for personal gain.”
  • “These people in these houses obviously have the financial wherewithal to fight the DEP,” said Hudson. “It will be interesting to see if the DEP has the strength of character to stand up for the public.”

This has nothing to do with United and jeez people, its sand!

Meh, saying that this is a United issue because the CEO was accused of stealing sand is a little dumb. It's the same as saying Americans are ignorant narcissistic infants because the guy who runs the show happens to be one.

Regardless of who owns the house, disturbing sand on the beach this time of year could be a big problem. It is sea turtle nesting season, and they are a protected species under the Federal Endangered Species Act just like bald eagles. Before anyone goes full hate on tree huggers, imagine the hatred if you discovered someone disturbed the nest of a bald eagle and their chicks.

Valid point. I'll give you this one.

I remember being in Kuwait when a C-130 flew in one day, bringing in plastic 55 gallon-type drums full of sand. For a sand volleyball court some General wanted constructed at the Jaber base. Apparently, the millions of square miles of desert sand there in Kuwait, wasn't of the correct type and consistency for a proper volleyball court.

Was christie there?
