Even after I think things have gone well. Should I reapply if they open back up? This is getting pretty discouraging, because I have no idea what they’re looking for.

Do you have a pulse and a ticket? That's what most are looking for. What's your background?

7 years 135, the I went to work for th DoD for several years as an analyst and strategic/operational arts advisor in Europe and Africa, the adjunct professor. I am getting F2F interviews but the TBNT comes shortly after.

That's your problem right there. You are likely being considered far too over qualified for an entry level $14-16/hour job. Most people getting hired at regionals are in the 23-25 year old range with little to no real world working experience and a still wet ADX certificate

Not sure what I can do about that. I keep most of the non aviation stuff off the resume. I just want to dispatch. Not worried about the money, they shouldn’t be.

You’re overqualified. I’m guessing they don’t think you’re in it for the long haul and don’t want to waste resources training someone whom they feel might bolt.

I do, but two I really wanted fell through. Today has been a rough day. Thanks for the comisseration.
I was in a rut for a while. Couldn't get an offer. Found a book on resumes and interviews. Best 30 bucks I've ever spent. Not trying to tell you that's the issue but you sound about how I felt back then. "Knock 'em dead" by Martin Yates was the book.

Not just being overqualified for the dispatch position but some of the managers probably feel as if you want their job and dont want the competition. You can still get hired especially if a place really needs dispatchers. Right now with the regionals not being so desperate, they might not want to take a risk on you.

Well that’s encouraging.

I've had 5 interviews so far with 3 TBNT responses and 2 nonresponders. The field is just competitive right now, but I'm sure you're going to get in somewhere! I've heard TransStates in St. Louis has been looking for people. Maybe try applying there?
